No problem here, but this will kick your thread back up to the top of the list, for a while, anyway.

Yes I can see that now. Hmmmmmp. Cant send pics through Hotmail, cant send pics through Yahoo, cant upload pics through Flickr; I think I should chuck my computer in the bin and go back to the good old days of pen and ink and proper photo's from the photo developer shop, just a shame I live 25km from the nearest village. Thanks anyway for your time and help.

jacquigolding I think I should chuck my computer in the bin I bought a new machine, and my problems magically disappeared. 8 times the RAM. 12 times the hard drive capacity. A gazillion times the processing speed.....

Maybe you are right, my computer is 2 years old now, so probably very out of date, I am just grizzling arent I. It is just so frustrating when you go to do something and the blooming thing just will not conform. Thanks I will maybe get a laptop, they are easier to haul out of the window when they are old.

jacquigolding Gosh. My old one was about 5 years old. Did I mention the screen the size of a small cinema? It is one of the reasons that I have returned to a desktop from a laptop.

Not sure which version of the Uploadr you're using, but it might be worth trying 3.1 which is in beta:
h.yimg.com/ce/flickr/FlickrUploadr-3.1.0-en.exe
Alternatively, I'm finding the web Uploadr works reliably:
www.flickr.com/photos/upload/
Commiserations anyway!

It's frustrating...
Which upload methods have you used?

The web uploader, which always gives "The file was not transferred properly" and the jUploadr, which fails with a "general upload error".
What's the sense of flickr if I can't upload images?

OK, it might help to try the standalone Uploadr 3.1 which is in beta:
h.yimg.com/ce/flickr/FlickrUploadr-3.1.0-en.exe
Note that jUploadr is a third party tool.

Thanks, but I do not use Windows. At the very least, the web uploader must work. It doesn't (Firefox 3 on Linux here).

Might be worth a try at this:
micampe.it/projects/flickruploadr
I haven't used it (I use a Mac) but it can't do any harm.

Hello everyone, I don't think I have cracked my problem exactly, but I have found that I can upload pics from my mobile phone. KB much smaller from phone than camera, any idea how to resize my pics from camera????

If they're small coming out of the camera, enlarging them will only make them look bad - pixelated, etc...

My pics from the camera are a lot bigger in KB than I think Flickr can cope with eg: 389KB per picture, can I make them smaller before I download them to Adobe photoshop, which is where I am trying to upload them to Flickr from. I am making it all sound very complicated aren't I. I am just so frustrated with all this, and yes I am a beginner, so it is a bit double dutch to me

389kb is not a big picture - in fact by modern standards that's tiny. Flickr should be able to cope with images of several Mb (10 times the size and more).

Most of my pics are 4 - 5mb in size; Flickr will easily cope with anything under 1 mb...
