I have tried to upload photos from two different computers at two different locations (work and home), both Windows, using the built-in uploading tool. Tried the separate flickr uploader tool last night from home and it didn't work either. I have not tried resizing images to smaller size. That should not be a requirement to upload.
When can we expect a fix?

Just tried using the uploader and photos are still stuck at 99% or in the "processing" mode in the uploader.

Neither uploader is working for me just now, sticking at various percentages. And this has been going on for 8 days without being fixed?
Uploading from within my photostream and using the basic uploader on a stand-alone PC with XP (SP2) and IE7. Small files are getting through but my panos are locking up. The same pano froze at two different percentages so it is not even consistent.

We think this will be fixed within about 5 or 10 minutes for folks, so try back shortly. It's been balking on larger sized files, and we think we found the cause.

Still not working. I noticed that the "99% complete" came up well before the upper progress bar got near to the right hand side - don't know if this is significant.

Well seems fixed now for me too...and a whole lot of people in the video section with the same probs.
Someone obviously Flicked the switch to limit file sizes like in the old days, timewasting hundreds if not thousands of customers. So curious, how such an event could occur?

I retried to upload and indeed, videoclips of 16 and 13 mb got uploaded.
Now though the upload is stuck again, this time on a videoclip of 82mb and one on 75 mb.
Pfff, this is not so pleasant. What explanation do you have to us, paying Flickr members?
Looking forward to a quick solution.
Thanks,
Pascal.

It was originally called upload problems and the first few posts talk about both videos and photos stalling at 99%. In many people's minds - myself included - an upload problem is an upload problem and if the symptoms are the same for video and photo then maybe - just maybe - there is a common factor.
There are a lot of very frustrated people kicking about and digs - however mild - don't really help to sooth tempers IMHO.

There's a specific thread for video, and a specific thread for photos. Identical posts from the same user in both serves no purpose.

The video thread is called "Video on Flickr -- bugs". It is not immediately obvious that this includes upload failures.

Not arguing with that. ...just observed that flickr's "fix" did seem to be the same for both. Anyhow, I'm giving up on flickr for a bit because I found another website that does want to play we me.

The uploader is still not working, either at home or at work (so the 'network problem' explanation does not apply to me).
Uploading batches through the Uploadr 3.0.5 results in multiple timeouts and dropped uploads. Has done so for days now. I have posted here and elsewhere about this, so have many other folks. No explanation or resolution has been forthcoming :(
I was told to post this in the official topic thread. However this has been closed by staff. People seem to be posting about this problem in the video bug thread instead.
COULD WE PLEASE GET AN [OFFICIAL TOPIC] THREAD SPECIFICALLY FOR THE UPLOADR PROBLEM? THANKS.
That way all the comments and info will at least get to the same place, and hopefully Flickr folks can make sense of them.
EDIT - Or, change the title of the other one to remove 'video.' It's confusing as heck. Thanks.

The most current version of the uploader (found on the 'tools' link from your home page) is 3.1. It uploads both video and photographs.
The official topic thread for the Uploader Problem is here. See, in particular, the staff statement on July 16 about photo upload problems.

Still hanging at 99% just like the OP states. I have been having this issue with uploading for at least 6 weeks or longer. I am using the latest version of the uploader...I have also tried using the site directly...none of which work, they both get stuck at 99%.

No hope with both the web and app Uploadr for about 4 days already. With the web uploadr, it moves to about 32% for a photo, and then jumps to 100% and gives a yellow warning symbol plus a "Bonk!".
With the uploadr app, the first picture shows to start uploading, stalls at 1%, then gives a "Houston, we have a problem."
Secret Test Page claims that Upload and API are a-OK. And oddly, the batch I was trying to upload had 20 photos, 14.2MB in total! A lot less than the super-size ones I see that a few from here have been trying to upload.
What could be wrong with Flickr? Is it having hiccups without the staff knowing?

I managed to get one medium-sized photo upload up with the Flickr Uploader (latest version) a few days ago as the online uploader still won't work. Today, neither uploaders work! The Flickr Uploader gets stuck uploading the first picture.

Just managed to get through two photos with the web uploader, but it's the same problem I was having before. The uploader leads straight to a blank page instead of the processing page and only two photos went through.

We aren't seeing a lot of reports of uploading problems right now, those that are reporting are scattered around the world so I also don't think that there is an issue with any area right now. If you are having trouble uploading photos the best thing to do might be to try the suggestions here.
Cybergabi, there was a problem that was causing uploads of >10MB to not work. This has been resolved though. Can you try again?

I am also experiencing uploading problems: uploader stalling or extremely slow, especially on larger files.(5-10 MB)
i am located in san francisco i.e. very close to flickr / yahoo servers. i have no firewall issue etc.
so there is probably an on-going network issue causing packet losses.

I'm using the beta 3.1 uploader and find that it hangs at 99% done just sending pictures. All of the pictures are there but the set that I created in the uploader is not. This problem seems to be repeatable as I've run into it each time I've tired it over the last week.

I did some poking around and I think I may have found a cause. When I try to upload pictures from several different directories, it hangs at 99% (or at least seems to hang; I didn't wait longer than about 10 min). However, if I pull it from one directory, it seems fine no matter how many images I attempt to upload.
I'm curious if anyone else can reproduce.

the problem is that the flickr uploader sometimes hangs - presumably when a packet-loss occurs, causing a socket.to block for too long.
if flickr uploader was smarter, it should detect the timeout in the transmission, and when this happens, re-initialize a new socket and try the upload again.
when the uploader hangs - and this happens all too often when uploading large batches and/or large files - the solution is to cancel the upload and re-start the upload again. the uploader remembers all the settings associated with each image, so this is not a problem.

The real inconvenience is that I have re-select all the images. I guess I could switch to using Uploadr, but it's not as convenient as the web tool.
The basic uploader works correctly, it seems to just be a problem with the Flash version. It's really, really frustrating.

> The real inconvenience is that I have re-select all the images. I guess I could switch to using Uploadr, but it's not as convenient as the web tool.
actually the uploader is much more convenient than the web upload tools.
if the uploader stalls, just click on "Cancel". the uploader remembers all the photos that have not yet been uploaded and all the attached info (tags etc). it will automatically reload those photos in the batch area.
just click "Upload" again, that's all.
> The basic uploader works correctly, it seems to just be a problem with the Flash version. It's really, really frustrating.
i'm not sure what you call "the basic uploader". i have stalling problems almost every day with the flickr uploader.

Well I was also having problem uploading photo like all of you. At first I was thinking it was because I had a free account and was considered a 3rd class citizen. But I see from this forum that most of you have a "pro" account.
I first tried the flash web uploader which have fail most of the time (I manage to upload 1 photo this way). I then decide to install the Uploader tool (version 3.0.5). Also was faling most of the time with the "BONK" error message, again 1 photo was able to pass thru.
I was then able to use the old web uploader from the tools FAQ and it work but seem to be slow and doesnt show any kind of progression/status.
Finally I give a try to the very old Uploader tools 2.3.1 and bebold it work quite well. So far all my batch photo went thru without a hitch (crossing finger and knocking on wood). This is running on Mac OS X 10.5.4 on a MacMini.
Maybe should try this to see if it resolve the problem?

guys i've been having MASSIVE problems with the uploadr.. !
first it uploads till it reaches processing and then it "Bonk"s... ! i try again then it doesn't leave the 0% .. i try to restart the uploadr but still nothing..
then i do this for like 3 or 4 times and keep getting the Bonk! thingey.. and i check my stream and i see it like uploaded twice ! :S
i tried to re-install the flickr uploadr.. but nothing has changed.. checked my firewall settings.. checked my antivirus settings.. and still.. still getting the Bonk thing and uploads "sometimes" of the multiple tries i do.. so i keep on uploading, Bonk.. check my stream ! :S
but i worked fine with me for like 2 weeks ... then the problem started.. and i didn't change the settings!
